Workshops

  • In a world where AI can be used to sound like you, mimic emotions and create content that feels real but isn’t, how do we know what to trust? As this technology becomes more accessible, how do we protect our privacy, identities, and our loved ones from harm? Join us for a hands-on session exploring how Generative Artificial Intelligence is reshaping our lives- whether we use it or not. From misinformation and deep fakes to AI agents and digital companions, we’ll share practical tips on how you can prepare, build resilience and safeguard against risks such as online scams, voice cloning and AI-enabled fraud. Through real-world examples, interactive demos, games, and discussions we’ll learn about the limitations and capabilities of this technology - and why each one of us needs to be a part of the conversation! (We encourage participants to fill out this survey before the session) text goes here

  • You've probably heard of deepfakes and seen those AI selfies where people "Ghibli-fy" their images or make themselves into a South Park character. What does that all mean? Can AI really be creative? How does AI art change what it means to be an artist? Join this workshop for a hands-on opportunity to dive into the world of art and technology. We'll use AI and traditional art tools to explore how AI sees us versus how we see ourselves. Learn to express yourself in new ways, inspired by new tools and exploration of conventional artwork.

Note: Workshop will require the use of apps that are not accessible on school-issued Chromebooks.  Participants should bring their own non-school issued device if possible. The workshop organizers will have a limited number of spare laptops available for those who need them. Your artwork created during this workshop may be featured in an upcoming Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) exhibition in June 2025. text goes here

  • In this hands-on workshop, you will explore how AI is transforming creative fields, from art and music to fashion and storytelling. Using just your phones and paper, you’ll imagine your own AI-powered creative collaborators, reflect on the role of technology in your passions, and discuss what it means to stay human in an AI-driven world. No prior experience with AI needed; just curiosity and creativity!

  • AI is shaping our world, but who really decides how it works and who it benefits? In this hands-on workshop, we’ll examine who holds power in AI development, why certain voices are left out, and what we can do to change that. Through interactive activities, you’ll explore AI’s impact on your life and collaborate on ways to make it more inclusive, ethical, and fair. AI isn’t just for techies to define—it’s for all of us to shape, together.

  • How is artificial intelligence reshaping our relationship with technology? In this hands-on workshop, explore the advantages and pitfalls of AI as you build and code your own social robot.  Will use Teachable Machine and Microbits.
