We enjoyed sharing the iFp learning experience with students from the Davis Leadership Academy in Dorchester. We are quite pleased that several will be joining us on an ongoing basis. Our day started off with a visit to MIT’s D-Lab. Students learned about the D-Lab’s mission of working with people around the world to develop solutions to global poverty challenges. They learned that in countries that aren’t as resource rich as ours – these challenges must be accomplished with limited resources. The example of a washing machine powered with bicycle parts was quite astonishing. After the talk to develop perspective, students jumped into design challenges to test their creativity and ingenuity.
Our hosts at the D-Lab were are gracious as always and provided a non-traditional glimpse of the amazing work taking place at MIT. All are eager for a return visit.
